Chrome new tab

Cyber and AI, on every new tab.

TinyDevz is the briefing that used to take six newsletters. Breaches, advisories, and the AI that actually shipped — waiting where the browser used to be blank.

The new tab

A briefing, already open.

Search stories or the web, save a story, follow a topic, pin a site, switch the theme. This is the same page the extension shows.

More than the feed

A briefing, and the desk beside it.

Security and AI stay the story. Next to them: GitHub trending, critical npm and PyPI advisories, recent releases, and Hacker News.

A briefing, not a firehose

Each headline has a one-line takeaway, so you can tell whether to open it. A red Urgent badge shows up only for the alerts worth stopping for, like a critical PHP vulnerability.

Yours, with or without an account

Skip sign-in and saved stories stay in this browser. Create an account with Google, GitHub, or email, and those saves follow you.

Still there when the network isn't

The last briefing is kept on the machine, so a cold start doesn't mean an empty tab.

Sources

Where it reads from.

Public feeds, refreshed on the server and cached. The extension never talks to the publishers directly.

Cyber

The Hacker News

Incidents, vulnerabilities, and what is being exploited.

Krebs on Security

Investigations that outlast the news cycle.

BleepingComputer

Breaches, ransomware, and patches.

CISA

Advisories worth acting on.

SANS ISC

Handler notes from the storms.

Google Security, Schneier, Dark Reading

Research, analysis, and the rest of the beat.

AI

OpenAI

Model and product news from the lab.

Google DeepMind and Google AI

Research posts, not keynote recaps.

Hugging Face

Models, datasets, and the open stack.

MIT Technology Review

The reporting around the releases.

The Verge and Ars Technica

Launches, policy, and what broke.

Simon Willison

Tools and notes from someone building with them.

Install

Install it this afternoon.

The package is hosted here, at tinydevz.com/extension. Unzip it and load it in Chrome. A Chrome Web Store listing can use this same build.

02

Open extensions

Go to chrome://extensions

03

Developer mode

Turn it on. Chrome asks for this until the store listing is live.

04

Load unpacked

Choose the folder that contains manifest.json. Open a new tab.
